Unveiling of Stimulator of Ababil 3 Drone at 7th Edition of Kish International Air Show

Kish Island, November 19, 2014- The stimulator of Iran's first home-made drone Ababil 3 was unveiled during the 7th edition of Kish International Air Show (also known as International Exhibition of Iran Aviation Industries) on Iran's Persian Gulf Island of Kish.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, The latest domestically-manufactured state-of-the-art unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was unveiled in a ceremony on Tuesday November 18th attended by several high-ranking Iranian officials.

The Ababil 3 can be used in reconnaissance operations and has flight duration of eight hours as well as effective operational radius of 250 kilometers.

The UAV can fly at an altitude of 15,000 feet and transmit images simultaneously to ground control stations or any other platforms.

Meanwhile, Iran's first four-seat helicopter Sorena was unveiled at the exhibition yesterday.

Sorena is used for patrolling and training missions and enjoys a power engine of 300 HP and a flight speed of 160km.

The four-day event will be underway until November 21 at Kish International Exhibition Center.

The7th edition of Kish International Air Show has kicked off on Tuesday and has been held at a 14,000 square meter open area.
