Establishment of the Largest Natural Geopark in Southern Iran by Mahan Airlines

In a significant step towards fulfilling social responsibilities and promoting sustainable development, Mahan Airlines, in collaboration with the Kish Free Zone Organization, is launching the construction of the largest natural geopark in southern Iran on Hormuz Island.

According to the public relations and international affairs office of the Kish Free Zone Organization, this geopark will span 538 hectares and aims to enhance nature tourism and the ecological tourism of Hormuz Island while adhering to the environmental regulations and requirements of the area.

This project is part of Mahan Airlines' social responsibility policies, coordinated with the Kish Free Zone Organization, focusing on environmental preservation and the promotion of nature-based tourism. The primary goal is to establish sustainable tourism infrastructure in Hormuz Island that attracts both domestic and international tourists while ensuring compliance with environmental principles.

The signing ceremony for the project took place in the presence of Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, along with officials from the Kish Free Zone Organization and Mahan Airlines.

This initiative is expected to contribute to the economic development of the region, create job opportunities, and position Hormuz Island as a new destination for ecotourism. The Hormuz Island geopark will focus on preserving biodiversity and geological phenomena, providing opportunities for scientific research, sustainable tourism, and increasing public awareness regarding nature conservation.

Furthermore, this project could serve as a model for responsible development in other regions across the country.
