According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of Kish Free Zone Organization, Kabiri added: “Development flourishes in the soil of peace and stability.” Kish’s brand must be associated with development grounded in stability for both domestic and foreign investors. On this path, we need to transform Kish into an economic driver by enhancing “economic diplomacy” and “balanced trade cooperation with neighboring countries.”
Kabiri also emphasized: “In developing Kish’s infrastructure, investment in aviation, maritime transport, energy, and internet is essential. While infrastructure projects are costly and time-consuming, they must be pursued. Moving toward sustainable development is like a relay race, where each manager must complete part of the journey.”
Regarding business facilitation processes in Kish, Kabiri said: “Free zone regulations were designed to ease business operations, but it is regrettable that we have lost many of our advantages. Progressive laws like the ‘Law on the Administration of Free Zones’ and ‘Article 65 of the Permanent Development Regulations’ have been burdened with excessive additional rules, to the point where one must ask: What is the difference between a free zone and the mainland?”
He stressed the importance of diversifying Kish’s revenue sources, saying: “New financial instruments, such as project-based public joint-stock companies, private financing funds, and similar tools, have not been utilized in Kish. We intend to direct new investments toward ‘the creative economy, innovative technologies, and artificial intelligence.’”
Regarding his plans for Kish tourism, Kabiri said: “In tourism, which is the timeless advantage of our beautiful Kish, our goal is to pay special attention to the third generation of the tourism industry, namely ‘creative tourism,’ which is endorsed by the World Tourism Organization. In the short term, Kish must move toward event-driven tourism and, in the medium term, toward sports and health tourism.”
In concluding his remarks, Kabiri stated: “We never forget that true development is meaningful only with human involvement. On this path, we are committed to improving the quality of life for Kish residents and preserving the island’s unique ecosystem. Development cannot be achieved without prioritizing culture and art, ensuring high standards in education and healthcare, and protecting the environment and Kish’s coral life.”
