Kish Witnesses 85 Percent Growth in Domestic & 11 Percent Growth in Foreign Industrial Investment

Kish Island, January 14, 2020-Kish Island has witnessed 893 billion Rials and $553,000 foreign exchange investment in the 2019 industry sector.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, six industrial towns with an approximate area of 244 hectares, including 319 active units which constitute 78% of the industrial city of Kish Free Zone, have led to creating 4,933 new employment opportunities. This is indicative of the dynamic industry and economy in Kish.

In addition to the favorable employment rates in Kish industrial sector, 47 permits were issued for private sector activity and the establishment of industrial units by KFZO during this period, which shows a 114% increase compared to 22 permits issued in the same period last year.

According to the report, of the 47 establishment licenses issued to build industrial plants during the above-mentioned period, 34 resulted in the issuance of operation licenses.

As for 34 licenses issued, the amount of 893 billion Rials and 853 thousand dollars foreign exchange investment in 2019 shows a considerable increase compared to $498,000 and 482 billion Riyals respectively in the same period last year showing an increase of 85% in the domestic sector and 11 percent in the foreign exchange sector.

It is worth noting that the implementation of the Free Zones regulations is one of the significant factors in attracting investments in Kish.
