Kish Squash Players Top Asian Ranking
Kish Island, February 8, 2016- Four squash players from Kish island have managed to grab top spots in the 2016 ranking of the Asian Squash Federation.
According to a report by the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, 17 year old Ali Reza Shamli, has been chosen as the best squash player in Asia.
Ali Reza Shamli has already won the gold medal in the nationwide squash competitions in Iran.
Also 2 other squash players from Kish island, including Sajad Zareian and Mohammad Reza Jafarzadeh have respectively gained the 3rd place in the Asian ranking.
Daniel Qarooni, Fereshteh Eqtedari and Ili Nayeri have respectively come to the 6th, 15th and 16th place in the under 13 squash ranking.
Kish Island is part of the Professional Squash Association's annual tour and holds the Fajr International Squash Championship.
The Persian Gulf Island holds numerous international sporting events.
The international squash championship dubbed Challenger 5 will be held in the Persian Gulf island of Kish in later this month.
“Challenger 5” will see world-known squash players from across the world vie for the 6,000 dollars in the competition.
