Kish New Year Holiday Hotel Occupancy Rate Hits 90 Percent

Kish Island, April 11, 2018 - Kish Free Zone Organization's Deputy Director for Tourism said: "The average occupancy rate of Kish hotels reached 90% during the Iranian New Year period (Nowruz.)"

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Alireza Ghaedian noted that from March 16 to April 4, 2018, the occupancy rate of Kish hotels reached 90%, which shows an increase compared to the similar period, given the development of additional hotel capacity by constructing two new hotels during past year.

"During this year's Nowruz holiday, 234 thousand and 697 tourists from all over the country traveled to Kish Island by air and sea," Ghaedian added.

Kish is a beautiful resort island with an area of 92 square-kilometre and a population of 35,000. Over 1.8 million tourists visit the picturesque island every year. It is seen as a haven for tourists as foreign nationals wishing to enter Kish Free Zone from legal ports are not required to obtain visas prior to travel. Valid travel permits are stamped for 14 days by Kish airport and Kish port police officials.
