Kish Island among Top Destinations for Foreign Students
Kish Island, May14, 2017- Iranian Foreign Ministry's deputy for consular, parliamentary, and expatriates' affairs says enjoying good facilities, proper higher education development, and social security, Kish Island is one of the best destinations to attract foreign students.
"The positive atmosphere created following the implementation of the nuclear deal has encouraged more foreign students to apply to Iranian universities so the university admission capacity can be increased 3 to 6 times", Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization quoted Dr. Ghashghavi, the deputy Foreign Minister as saying.
Ghashghavi reiterated that around 30,000 foreign students are currently studying at Iranian Universities and the number could reach around 200,000 with regard to the good potentials yielded by the Islamic Republic in higher education.
Meanwhile Hassan Ghashghavi pointed to the interest expressed by citizens of many countries such as Italy, Spain and Hungary to study at universities in Iran and said "some parts of the country, including Kish Island, can be very effective in attracting foreign students and expedite the realization of the national objectives in terms of attracting international students."
He also said "With the fundamental Support and planning of Dr. Mounesan, there has been an overall growth in science and technology exchange with the most important international scientific centers and also in the number of international students studying at Kish universities."
The Iranian official made the comments during a speech at the 9th graduation ceremony of128 students of Sharif University of Technology - International Campus Kish Island on Thursday May 11.
