According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of Kish Free Zone Organization the motto of the conference was "innovation and commercializing science and technology.” The conference also highlighted the role of knowledge-based agencies and institutions in promotion of technology management.
A number of high-ranking Iranian officials including Iranian vice president for scientific affairs as well scientific experts and academics took part in the conference.
During the opening ceremony of the international gathering, Managing Director of the Iranian Aviation Industries Organization Manouchehr Manteqi highlighted the significance of knowledge-based agencies in boosting national economy and said the technological and scientific achievements made by Iranian scientists are significant enough to be exported in the international arena.
Manteqi said commercialization of technology and its promotion among economic managers were among the most important objectives behind holding the two day event.
The two day conference included eight expert-level panels with the presence of renowned university professors from around the world.
Professor Cristina Chaminade from Sweden, Professor Bart Nooteboom from the Netherlands, Professor Jeff Butler from Britain and Professor Markus Bayegan from Switzerland were among the keynote academics taking part in the conference.
Representatives from Gambia, Iraq, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Zambia, Holland, Switzerland, Turkey, Britain, Bangladesh, South Africa, and Switzerland have taken part in the international event.
Several Iranian institutions including Iran’s vice presidency for science and technology, University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, Allameh Tabatabaee University as well as 10 international organizations are among the sponsors of the conference.
