Kish Green Space Per Capita 6 Times Higher than International Standards
Kish Island, October 20, 2015- Green space per capita in the Persian Gulf Island of Kish has reached 150 square meters in the first half of the current Persian calendar year.
Following the implementation of a comprehensive plan by Kish Free Zone Organization aimed at expanding and maintaining green spaces across the Persian Gulf island, green space per capita on Kish is now six times higher than the international standard which is 25 square meter per person.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, the director of Kish Development and Investment Company, Behboud Behizadi, nearly 13,000 trees were planted across Kish Island during the first six months of the present Persian calendar year (starting on March 21).
Also more than 18,000 seasonal plants and other plants were planted across the island.
The measures carried out by KFZO to increase green space across the island come as part of efforts to boost the beauty of the island as well as improving the mental health of the residents and tourists visiting the coral reef island.
