Kish Airlines to Buy 10 New Aircraft
Kish Island, June 8, 2015-Kish Airlines plans to buy 10 new aircraft by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2015 - March 19, 2016), said Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan, the Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization.
"Three airliners will be added to Kish Airlines' fleet this summer and if everything goes well, we will purchase 7 more airplanes directly from the Boeing Company," Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization quoted Dr. Mounesan as saying.
Each of the airplanes will cost Kish Free Zone Organization $17 million, said KFZO head, expressing the hope that the average age of the airlines' fleet would be reduced considerably.
Dr. Mounesan also expressed the hope that buying aircraft from foreign companies could be facilitated following removal of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran and the Group 5+1 have been holding talks to make a comprehensive deal over Iran's nuclear program which will finally lift sanctions against the country.
The two sides are committed to push for a final deal until the end of June.
