KFZO Head's Message on International Al Quds Day
Kish Island, June 30, 2016- Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan has released a message on the occasion of the international al-Quds Day, as Muslims across the world get ready to hold rallies in support of the oppressed people of Palestine.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Dr. Mounesan has described al-Quds Day as "a symbol of unity in the Muslim world."
"This day (Al-Quds Day) is the lasting legacy of the great founder of the Islamic Revolution and is indicative of Muslims' strong will for liberating Quds from the clutches of the evil enemies and relieving the defenseless people of Palestine from homelessness and Israeli atrocities," Dr. Mounesan reiterated in his message.
The KFZO head also slammed the international community's silence and inaction on Israeli regime's atrocities against the Palestinians, including innocent children and women, and called on all freedom-seeking people around the globe to take action against such crimes committed by the occupying regime of Israel.
"Thanks to the endeavors by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the issue of Quds and Palestine has now turned into one of the most important concerns in the Muslim world," Dr. Mounesan underscored, urging all Muslims, including the residents of Kish and the tourists visiting the Persian Gulf Island to actively participate in al-Quds Day rallies.
"I hope that the honorable residents and tourists in Kish island actively take part in international al-Quds Day demonstration to express solidarity with Palestinian Muslims and voice their anger and hatred of the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime," Dr. Mounesan concluded.
Every year on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, worldwide rallies are held to commemorate the Palestinian people’s resistance against Israel and their struggles to liberate their territories which have been occupied by Israel for decades. Millions of pro-Palestinian demonstrators, including Muslims and non-Muslims, take to the streets to denounce Israel’s atrocities against the people of Palestine. This year’s al-Quds Day rallies will be held across the world on Friday, July 1st.
International al-Quds Day is seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who is revered as a spiritual leader by Muslims across the world. Back in 1979, shortly after leading an Islamic revolution which toppled the US-backed Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan as Quds Day.
