Italian Sculptor Wins Kish Intl. Sculpture Top Prize

Kish Island, March 3, 2015- Italian sculptor Alessio Ranaldi has scooped the top prize for the 1st edition of Kish International Sculpture Symposium.

The Italian artist received the 7, 000 USD prize for the first place winner as well as the plaque of the symposium.

The title of sculpture he created in Kish International Symposium was "Among Us".

Iranian sculptor Shahryar Rezaee finished in the second place and Viktar Kopach from Belarus along with Mario Lopes from Portugal jointly won the third place.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, the closing ceremony of Kish International Sculpture Symposium was held at Kish Convention Center on Monday.

Several KFZO officials, organizers of the symposium, as well as the foreign guests took part in the event.

The first edition of Kish International Sculpture Symposium kicked off back in February with 17 Iranian and foreign sculptors in attendance.

Five Iranian sculptors and 12 foreign artists from US, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Taiwan, Belarus, Spain, Costa Rica, Serbia, Germany, Georgia, and Hungary took part in the artistic event.

Kish Free Zone Organization held the symposium with the aim of implementing diverse cultural and artistic programs on the Persian Gulf Island.

The sculptures created in the symposium will be installed across the Persian Gulf Island.
