Iranian Govt. Welcomes International Cooperation with Knowledge-Based Companies to Boost Aviation Industries

Kish Island, November 17, 2016- Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology, Sorena Sataari, says the government is ready to expand ties with foreign knowledge-based companies and the private sector to accelerate the development of aviation industries in the country.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Sataari said the issue of aerospace technology has been ignored over the past 20 years and the government is now focused on boosting knowledge-based companies in this regard.

“Our relations with Russia’s Technology Commission has led to the transfer of modern and valuable aerospace technologies to the country and acceleration of the expansion of aviation industries,” said the Iranian official.

Sataari reiterated that boosting the participation of the private sector tops the agenda of the government.

“Beside the private sector, we welcome cooperation with foreign countries which are ready to implement technological projects related to aerospace,” said the head of Iran’s National Elites Foundation.

Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the 8th edition of the International Aviation Exhibition in Kish island on Wednesday.

The exhibition has been held with the aim of showcasing the capabilities of Iran’s aviation industries as well as introducing the latest achievements and technologies related to the aviation industry.

Some 100 Iranian aviation companies along with exhibitors from Germany, Russia, Italy, Britain, Japan, Lithuania, Malaysia, France and Czech Republic have attended the exhibition.

The international exhibition on aviation industries will be underway until November 19 in a 20,000 square meter area in Kish Island.
