Intl. Tennis Tournament Underway in Kish
Kish Island, February 8, 2016- The Persian Gulf island of Kish is hosting an international Tennis tournament these days.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, the competition for junior male contenders has already kicked off.
26 junior male tennis players from Iran, Turkey, Italy, UAE, Tajikistan, Russia, Pakistan, Jordan, India, Indonesia, Germany, Britain, Egypt, Ecuador, Croatia, Bahrain and Uzbekistan, have taken part in the competition.
Meanwhile, female tennis players will start the completion on Monday, February 8.
The tournament will be underway for a week at Kish Olympic Complex.
Croatian tennis player Toni Androić has scrapped his way to the final of International Tennis Futures Tournament held on the Persian Gulf Island of Kish.
Androić will face Marc Fornell Mestres from Spain.
Androić was in the main draw of the 2011 Croatia Open with his partner Borut Puc. He is working with Goran Prpić. In 2012, he was part of the HTK Zagreb team that won the national tennis championship.
His rival is a professional male tennis player from Spain. Marc Fornell Mestres has captured two ATP Challenger Series/Tour titles. Fornell's career-high ATP singles entry ranking is World No. 271, achieved on April 30, 2007.
Meanwhile, Spanish doubles will face Croatian-Macedonian players in final.
Also, 13 Iranian tennis players will contend with their rivals on Sunday.
A number of tennis players from Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Macedonia, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Argentina, Malaysia, Netherlands, India, Australia, Japan, Great Britain, Singapore, Tajikistan, Montenegro, Ghana as well as 23 Iranian players are competing in the tennis tournament.
