According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, the fourth round of International Depth Competitions has kicked off in Kish Island as part of the 2019 International Army Games with Dr. Mozzaffari the CEO of Kish Free zone Organization, Habibollah Sayyari the Deputy Coordinator of Islamic Republic of Iran Army, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi Iran Navy commander, as well as the Deputy Commander-in-Chief Russian Navy Admiral Aleksandr Viktorovich Vitko along with local officials in attendance.
Deep-diving teams from Iran and also Russian, Chinese, South African, Venezuelan and Syrian armies are taking part in the event.
While welcoming the guests and participants Dr. Mozzafari expressed the hope that the results of the competitions will not only demonstrate the capability of the forces of various countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran's armies but also lead to further empathy and support the maintenance and promotion of peace and stability in international waters and the Persian Gulf.
He also stressed that Kish is ready to host the permanent secretariat of deep-diving competitions.
"It is gratifying that this year the island of Kish has been selected as the host of the Army Games due to its capacities and facilities. Kish Island with an area of about 92 km2 located in the azure waters of the Persian Gulf and the unique natural environment has the potential to become one of the top tourism destinations in the region especially a desirable destination for the families as well as the hub of sport and health tourism." KFZO head added.
During his speech, Dr. Mozaffari also pointed to tourism as the main focus of activities on Kish Island and said: "Alongside the comprehensive development of Kish, efforts to strengthen the country's tourism industry is the core of all projects and activities in the region. Of course, given the facilities available on the island of Kish, creating the infrastructures needed to boost sports tourism, especially water sports, is one of the most important areas to be developed."
"Since the beginning of the negotiations for holding the diving competition of the International Army Games in Kish Island, Kish Free Zone Organization has been actively cooperating to organize this event properly and is striving to prepare the ground to host the future rounds of the International Army Games by providing the proper services and facilities. Because we believe these competitions provide a great opportunity to learn about the culture and customs of the participating countries, as well as a good opportunity to promote interaction and cooperation to maintain and enhance the Persian Gulf security as one of the world's most important commercial waterways." he reiterated.
Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Khanzadi, said: “Such competitions show stability in the Persian Gulf and demonstrate that we are seeking collective peace and security.”
It should be mentioned that International Army Games are currently underway simultaneously in 30 countries such as Russia, China, Iran, Mongolia, India, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
The International Army Games will be wrapped up on August 17.
