Int’l Credit Cards Enter Kish FTZ

International credit cards have found their way to Kish Island, offering a credit of up to $100,000 to Iranian businessmen.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Abbas Nourbakhsh, the Advisor and Director General of CEO's Department and the CEO of Kish Investment and Development Company, as well as heads of Vision Card Iranian Company and some other officials attended the opening ceremony of Vision Card Iranian office on Thursday, July 26.

In the opening ceremony of this event, Abbas Nourbakhsh, the Advisor and Director General of CEO's Department said: “We have obtained the licenses and made arrangements with foreign banks. Merchants endorsed by KFTZO will be eligible to make currency transfer worth as much as $100,000 through these cards.

Abbas Nourbakhsh also stated. “This is a major step toward facilitating trade and cutting the payment and currency transfer costs. The cards are accepted in over 200 countries and can be used in ATMs and for Internet payments,” he added.  The introduction of new international payment technology to Iran’s market could help the government slow the outflow of foreign currency.

The Vision Card Iranian, a name chosen for international credit cards for Iranians, is now being issued through some of the branches of Iran’s Post Company. These international credit cards would solve people’s problem with international payments, and foreign trips to some point.

These cards come in bronze, silver and gold plans which would have a credit limit up to 10 thousand dollars and are not actually a credit card with credit functionality but are rather a prepaid credit card (debit card functionality).
