ICAO Seminar Held in Kish

Kish Island, May 10, 2016- Kish island is hosting a seminar organized by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).


According to the Public Relations and International Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, the 8th edition of the international seminar is aimed at finding ways to counter organized crimes, boost flight security and facilitate security checks at airports.

The international event has been attended by security and aviation officials from Iran and representative from 50 ICAO member states.

The seminar which kicked off on May 9 will be underway until May 12.

It features the technology related to ICAO’s Machine Readable Travel Documents (MRTDs) and Traveller Identification Management.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a UN specialized agency, established in 1944 to manage the administration and governance of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

It works with the Convention’s 191 Member States and industry groups to reach consensus on international civil aviation Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and policies in support of a safe, efficient, secure, economically sustainable and environmentally responsible civil aviation sector.
