Kish Island, July 2, 2015- A senior official at Kish Free Zone Organization says foreign investors' interest in doing business in Kish Island has dramatically increased since the last Persian Calendar year.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization numerous rounds of negotiations were held between KFZO and investment delegations from foreign countries.
"Last year, following the appropriate introduction of investment opportunities and potentials in Kish, investment gateways were opened toward foreign economic activists and they voiced their preparedness to start their activities in Kish," said Ali Jirofti.
He pointed to the presence of KFZO in several exhibitions overseas and holding similar events in Kish Island and said such activities can contribute to attracting more foreign investment.
Many trade delegations have visited Kish Island to review investment opportunities, however, the talks have not been finalized yet and we hope that the number of contracts with foreign investors increases significantly this year, said KFZO deputy director for economic affairs.
He also said KFZO has held special talks with several foreign investment groups regarding promotion of health tourism in Kish and talks with two foreign investors have already been finalized and preliminary agreements will be signed over the coming months.
He reiterated that the contracts should be regulated on the basis of international agreements.
Jirofti also predicted that several contracts between KFZO and major investment groups will be concluded this year.
He described tax exemptions, visa-free entry as well as minimized bureaucracy as major legal advantages of doing business in Kish and said investors are quite satisfied that their problems are directly resolved by KFZO and they don't need to get involved in bureaucratic procedures.
