Beach and Sport Tourism Development Contribute to Boosting Event-based Tourism in Kish

Kish Island, May 18, 2020 - Saeed Pourali: Applying new knowledge and skills to promote beach and sport tourism, can lead to a fundamental leap in the field of event-oriented tourism.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Saeed Pourali, KFZO Deputy for Tourism, announced the revision of the comprehensive plan to hold special sport events on Kish Island, and said: "The event-based infrastructure must be strengthened and upgraded, to achieve this important goal and create a leap in the field of tourism."

KFZO official stated: "With the new approach and the new structure that is realized in the field of sports on Kish Island, this field will be directed towards event-oriented tourism, which will lead to economic income generation and providing appropriate services for tourists and residents of Kish."

Pourali further pointed out the importance of natural potentials and tourism facilities in Kish, and added: "The existing facilities in this region, such as marine recreation, men's and women's exclusive beaches and sports halls, Kish Airlines, as well as the residential centers are the advantages of this area in creating a leap in the field of event-oriented tourism."

He said that at the time of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, considering the fact that Kish Island has the most similar climate to Qatar, taking advantage of the capacities of this region in the mentioned fields, we can provide services for tourists and fans of these competitions in the form of holding two-day tours to the mainland.

Due to its pristine coral site, Kish Island has the most significant number of diving clubs compared to the north, south of the country, and Dubai, with 23 active diving clubs providing the tourists and residents with decent services.
