2 Projects Worth $42mn Underway in Kish
Kish Island, June 26, 2016- Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan says two massive investment projects are underway in Kish Island.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Dr. Mounesan made the remarks in an interview with Irna News Agency.
Dr. Mounesan emphasized that the projects are carried out with the aim of attracting foreign investment.
“Construction of an air cargo center is one of the projects to be financed by a Swiss investment company,” KFZO head noted, adding that the project will be worth 25 million dollars.
Dr. Mounesan also pointed to the construction of a huge fountain system dubbed “the Voice of Persian Gulf” which will be built at a cost of $17 million dollars.
The project, which is aimed at boosting tourism capacity in Kish, is expected to become operational in the summer. It has been financed by a German company.
Dr. Mounesan also referred to other projects aimed at boosting investment in Kish island including the establishment of a factory producing hologram biosensors, which will be implemented in collaboration with Cambridge University.
The project will pave the way for investment in High Tech industry and transferring the modern technology to Iran, said the KFZO chief.
Dr. Mounesan also referred to an agreement signed by Kish Free Zone Organization and Society of Iranian Petroleum Industry Equipment Manufacturers (SIPIEM) which will see Kish turning into a pilot through which technologies related to oil and gas industry will be transferred into mainland Iran.
