KFZO Managing Director: Free Zones on the Path to Export Development

Kish Island, December 17, 2014- Managing Director of Kish Free Zone, Ali Asghar Mounesan, said free zones have planned well during the past year to fulfill their assigned missions.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization quoting from freena, at a meeting for signing a memorandum of understanding between Qeshm and Kish Free Zones and Iranian National Standards Organization, held in Tehran, Mounesan emphasized the importance of signing the memorandum and said standardization of the activities is in line with KFZO mission-oriented approach which is the development of trade and tourism industry.

Kish Free Zone, he added, has launched its plans in the hardware and infrastructural fields, the most important of which are dredging of the 12-thousand-ton jetty and establishment of 35-thousand-ton dock with the possibility of receiving giant ships.

Mounesan reiterated that establishment of the new jetty in Kish will cause an increase in cooperation with Bandar Shahid Rajaei in import of goods and port services.

The CEO of KFZO Pointed to the facilitation of business activities and said 400 industrial units in various sectors including High-tech industries, drug manufacturing, medical equipment and food industries are operating on Kish Island and have achieved top rankings in production in the country.

He concluded, his zone has already signed a memorandum of understanding with the Iranian National Standards Organization in order to facilitate trade based on which tradesmen can easily do business on Kish.
