Free Zones, Development Pilot for Tourism Industry
Kish Island, March 8, 2016- Deputy Director of Kish Free Zone Organization for tourism affairs has described Iran’s free zones as a pilot for developing the tourism industry in the country.
Speaking to a gathering of Iranian officials, as well as foreign activists involved in the tourism sector in Kish Island, Moheb Khodaee highlighted Iran’s capacity for boosting the tourism industry.
The event dubbed “Tourism City” was held at Kish International Convention Center on Friday.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, KFZO deputy director also pointed to the potentials of Kish Island for attracting tourists from across the world and said Kish can serve as a role model for boosting tourism in other Iranian cities.
“Over 6 million tourists travel to Kish Island every year…The potentials of the island in terms of its sports and maritime recreation facilities, health tourism, historical and cultural monuments, unique and beautiful beach, can turn the island into a think tank and role model for other cities in the country,” he added.
Meanwhile, the manager of a foreign hotel company taking part in the gathering said setting up multi-lingual online websites is key to promoting tourism industry in the region.
Miguel Ventora, general director of New Hotel Company also described access to the internet and digital marketing and electronic commerce as important factors in attracting more tourists.
