According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, in the opening ceremony of the two production units, Gholam Hossein Mozaffari, the CEO of Kish Free Zone Organization, said: "Despite the problems caused by the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in the country and even during Nowruz Holiday, the industrial and production sectors, did not shut down their activities and continued to work following all the health protocols. It will certainly lead to the boom of industry on the island."
Mozaffari also stated that the opening of the two export-oriented industrial units on Kish Island would contribute to productivity boom in the year of "Surge in Production."
" One of these two industrial units in the field of oil and drilling technical and engineering services has started its activities with the amount of 16 million dollars and 20 billion Rials investment. Fortunately, the number of contracts concluded for the sale of technical engineering services in the oil and gas sector has exceeded the costs of the company", he added.
He further stated: "The cosmetic and sanitary production company on Kish Island has also started its activities in cooperation with a famous European brand and investment amounting 750 thousand dollars. So it can be a suitable platform for exporting its products due to the presence of foreign investors in this industrial project.
Mozaffari added: "The Company forecasts that in the next six months, with the participation of investors and foreign brands, they will produce raw materials inside the country so that there would be no obstacle to development, and the production process will be facilitated."
He described the establishment of knowledge-based companies as one of the good things that will happen on the island. "Currently, 33 knowledge-based companies are based on Kish, and 170 companies have applied for establishment on Kish Island. Applicants whose activity will lead to the production of a knowledge-based product are given the priority", he said.
KFZO head also announced the establishment of a technology and production town on the island, according to KFZO plans stressing that establishment of this town will work to organize knowledge-based institutions on the island of Kish.
