Loading, Unloading Goods in Kish Island Exceeds one Hundred Thousand Tons
Kish Island, May 2, 2017- Director of Kish Port and Maritime Office said that loading and unloading of goods in Kish Island has exceeded 108 thousand tons and also non-oil exports has shown 70 percent growth over the first month of the current Persian year (1396).
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization quoting from Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization, Ahmad Shahriary announced the loading and unloading of 108 thousand 350 tons of oil and non-oil commodity at Kish port, in the first month of the current Persian year starting on March 21, among which total non-oil cargo was 86, 999 tons and 21, 351 tons were oil products.
"Since the beginning of the current Iranian year 163,739 passengers have used Kish harbor transport services and in the same period around 1,461 vessels shuttled between Kish island and mainland coast, among them 460 vessels carried over 1,000 tons goods." he reiterated.
He also said the share of non-oil export operations amounted to 355 tons with 70% growth and the volume of imports of such goods has been 1,799 tons.
Director of Kish Port and Maritime Office also announced the cabotage of 84,845 tons of non-oil goods in the port.
"During this period, 35,878 vehicles were transferred through Kish-Charak and Kish-Aftab sea routes by landing crafts "he added.
