Kish Young Archer Snatches Gold Medal
Kish Island, December 18, 2016- Sogand Rahmani, Kish female junior archer has won the gold medal at the 2016 World Archery Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Iran’s Sogand Rahmani who was defeated by Parisa Rohanian, another Iranian archer, in the final stage of Indoor Archery World Cup in Morocco, and had won the silver medal, recorded impressive displays in the final match of the recurve cadet women's division, and clinched a 7-1 victory over her compatriot Parisa Rohanian to snatch the gold medal.
The young archer was welcomed by, Kish archery officials, a group of athletes and residents on Saturday afternoon.
This is the first time that a female Iranian archer has won the world title.
Rahmani will participate in the Indoor Archery Tournaments Las Vegas, USA 10-12 February 2017.
Junior male and female archers were awarded four medals including one gold, two silver and one bronze in Indoor Archery World Cup Recurve matches in Bangkok, Thailand.
