Kish Airport Passengers Up 15% during Summer Festival
Kish Island, August 17, 2016- Number of passengers arriving at Kish International Airport has increased 15% as a summer festival is underway in the Persian Gulf island.
According to the Public Relation and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, 236,934 passengers arrived at Kish airport during the first half of the summer festival which started on July 5.
The figure shows a 15% year-on-year increase and comes amid a tourism boom in the Persian Gulf island.
1881 domestic flights and 132 flights from foreign countries transferred passengers to Kish during the summer festival.
Kish summer festival started on July 5 and will be underway until September 20.
It should be noted that Kish international airport is seen as the third busiest airport in Iran, offering aviation services to over 1.8 million people every year.
