KFZO Head Named Health Ambassador
Kish Island, August 1, 2016-Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan has been chosen as a health ambassador, by Iran's Hepatitis Network.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan was chosen as health ambassador given his endeavors in promoting medical services particularly for patients suffering from liver diseases.
Dr. Moayed Alavian pointed to the medical activities aimed at treating hepatitis in Kish during the recent years and expressed the hope that the disease would be eradicated within five years.
He made the comments at a conference held at Kish International Convention Center on Wednesday on July 28.
During the ceremony which was held to mark World Hepatitis Day, Dr. Mounesan was bestowed with the award of Iran's Hepatitis Network.
Dr. Alavian said there are over 200,000 Hepatitis C patients in Iran. He said World Health Organization seeks to eradicate the disease by 2031.
"Cities like Kish which enjoy appropriate medical infrastructure, can offer medical services to patients suffering from liver disease on an international level and introduce the capabilities of Iran's medical sector to other countries," he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Khalkhali, the administrator of Kish super specialty hospital announced that the hospital is ready to offer medical services to health tourists from Iran and other countries.
He also pointed to the establishment of liver disease center at Kish hospital and said it has already attracted health tourists from regional countries.
Dr. Khalkhali reiterated that the medical center aims to offer more diagnostic and medical services to treat liver diseases including Hepatitis B and C, metabolic syndrome as well as liver failures.
