Hendurabi Ready to Receive Tourists
Kish Island, May 18, 2016- Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan says the Persian Gulf island of Hendurabi is ready to receive tourists.
"The first airliner carrying tourists will soon land in Hendurabi airport, opening a new gateway toward Iran's tourism industry, " Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization quoted Dr. Mounesan as saying.
KFZO head said " the infrastructure development of Hendurabi Island has already witnessed a significant progress", emphasizing that developing the necessary infrastructures including the airport, pier, as well as energy resources come as part of expanding tourism industry in Hendurabi Island.
Dr. Mounesan also described the short distance between Hendurabi and Kish islands as a major advantage which was not taken into account during the past years.
"Hendurabi along with Kish island can boost Iran's share in the lucrative regional tourism market as Muslims in neighboring countries are interested in traveling to such destinations and enjoy a peaceful stay with their families in an untapped and natural environment," Dr. Mounesan reiterated.
He also said that Hendurabi will turn into one the of top health tourism destinations in the region in the near future given its environment-friendly development plan.
Dr. Mounesan said Hendurabi can serve as an ideal place for the elderly as well as patients suffering from respiratory disorders.
Hendurabi is a 22.8 square kilometer island located in the Persian Gulf. It lies 9 kilometers west of Chirooyeh, between Kish and Lavan islands. Hendurabi is also 325 kilometers from Bandar Abbas Port in southern Iran.
