Intl. Expo on Mining, Cement, Metallurgy Industries Underway in Kish

Kish Island, January 27, 2016 - The 2nd edition of the International Exhibition on Investment & Trading Opportunities in Mining, Cement, Metallurgy and Related Industries is underway in Kish Island.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, more than 80 Iranian and foreign companies have attended the event.

Director of Kish Development and Investment Company, Parham Janfeshan was among the KFZO officials taking part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

During his speech, he pointed to the industrial and development projects carried out in Kish island as part of maintaining sustainable growth and said "there are great capacities for investment in Kish in regards to development, tourism and economic sectors.

"Kish relishes the prospect of becoming the gateway of Iran for foreign investors. Infrastructure projects have been carried out in recent years to prepare the ground for the future activities," said Janfeshan.

"Many Iranian and foreign investors have already voiced readiness to invest in Kish and the coral reef island is expected to turn into an international market for economic and trade activities in the region," he added .

Companies from China, Turkey, Italy, Canada, Australia, Russia, Slovenia, and Germany have taken part in the International Exhibition on Investment & Trading Opportunities in Mining, Cement, Metallurgy and Related Industries.

The exhibition kicked off on January 26 and will be underway at Kish International Convention Center until January 29.

The event is mounted as part of efforts to introduce investment opportunities in Iran’s mine industries as well as cement and metallurgy fields. It is also aimed at transferring and sharing modern technology and boosting competition among the related companies.

IMIDRO (Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization), FL Smith, Fars Holding, as well as Minerality Canada Ltd. are among the major companies attending the three-day event.
