Kish Island, January 13, 2016 - Iran to Become Key Player in Global Energy Markets.

Iran's deputy petroleum minister says his country will soon get a key player in global energy markets.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Vaziri Hamaneh made the remarks during the opening ceremony of Kish International Energy Exhibition on Monday.

He pointed to Iran's immense oil and natural gas resources and said these resources have already given Iran a strategic status in the global energy markets and can pave the way for developing international interactions.

He also said Iran faces a "very bright" future during the post-sanctions era.

"During the post-sanctions era, purposeful and optimal involvement of the private sector in oil and gas industries can boost economic growth," Iran's deputy petroleum minister noted.

Vaziri Hamaneh also pointed to Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei's emphasis on developing economy of resistance in Iran and said the country's development plan has been based on economy of resistance policies.

He said it's necessary for Iran to regain its "favorable" role in the international energy market and underscored that oil revenues can bring about sustainable economic growth for Iran.

The 12th edition of International Kish Energy Exhibition kicked off on January 11th in Kish Island.

Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan, was among the keynote lecturers of the opening ceremony of the event.

The three-day exhibition is held at Kish Convention Center and will be underway until Thursday January 14.

195 Iranian and foreign companies have taken part in the exhibition.

The exhibition is considered as an important event which is held during the post-sanctions era. Representatives from 195 Iranian companies and 35 foreign companies from Italy, China, Turkey, the Netherlands, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, France, Austria, UAE, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Australia, Russia, Britain, Japan, Canada, Kuwait and Switzerland have attended the exhibition which is underway in an 18-thousand square meter area in Kish island.

The event showcases the latest state-of-art oil industry equipment and technology and is seen as a great opportunity for introducing Iran’s potential and existing capacities in oil-related sectors including production, trade, industrial services related to gas, petrochemical, water, electricity, sectors as well as related machinery and equipment. The event also prepares the ground for the presence of major international companies and investors in Iran’s energy projects during the post-sanctions era.
