1st Foreign Bank to Be Established in Kish
Kish Island, August31, 2015-Deputy Director of Kish Free Zone Organization for Economic and Investment Affairs says Iran's Money and Credit Council has approved establishment of foreign banks in Kish Island.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Ali Jirofti said the first foreign bank will open in Kish Island next week, without giving any more details.
He also pointed to the obstacles facing foreign banks in Iran and said the Iranian government and Central Bank of Iran have already approved the establishment of foreign banks in free zones across the country.
"Following the issuance of the new procedure, and close collaboration with the Central Bank of Iran, we are now eying the establishment of KIFC in Kish which will open an environment in which banks and financial institutes can operate freely," said KFZO deputy director.
Jirofti also pointed to an upcoming conference on Iran economy which will be held in Kish in October.
The second edition of the international exhibition on stock exchange, banking, insurance and privatization will be mounted in Kish Island later this year.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, the international event which is aimed at promoting economic ties, will be held on October 9.
The three-day event, which has been organized by Kish Free Zone Organization, will be held at Kish International Convention Center.
Also, the 7th edition of the exhibition on Iran's investment opportunities will be held on the sidelines of the international exhibition.
