Kish Island, August 1, 2015- An increasing number of tourists from across the world are thronging Kish of Kish amid booming tourism industry in the Persian Gulf island.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, 51408 foreign tourists travelled to Kish within the first four months of the current Persian calendar year (which started on March 21st). The figure showed a 17% year-on-year increase.
Meanwhile, the number of foreign flights to Kish Island rose by 29% from 358 flights in the first four months of last Persian calendar year to 462 flights in the same period this year.
The latest boom in the number of foreign tourists visiting Kish comes against the backdrop of efforts by Kish Free Zone Organization to develop tourism sector in the Persian Gulf island.
KFZO has announced that developing tourism industry tops its agenda. Kish Free Zone Organization has already launched diverse projects to expand the tourism infrastructure in Kish with the aim of turning the Persian Gulf island into a top tourist destination both in Iran and in the world.
