Kish Island, June9, 2015-The Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization (KFZO) Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan says Kish Island, as a free trade zone, is the gateway of foreign investment in Iran.
Dr. Mounesan pointed to the businesses opportunities and infrastructure in the Island, the strategic location of the Persian Gulf island, no visa entry, and low custom costs as outstanding advantages of investment in Kish.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization Dr. Mounesan made the comments on the sidelines of a visit to the office of Iran Labour News Agency (ILNA).
He said a wide range of activities have already been carried out in Kish Island to develop its infrastructure.
Establishing water treatment facility, Kish power plant, desalination facility as well as implanting a 16 kilometer optical fiber network have been among the projects carried out in recent months to develop the infrastructure of Kish Island, said KFZO chief.
"These sectors are developed quickly to pave the way for the presence of foreign investment delegations," Dr. Mounesan reiterated.
Dr. Mounesan described energy sector as the top priority for foreign investors and said: "Thanks to its geographical location, Kish can serve as an ideal place for foreigners to explore investment opportunities related to gas and oil projects in Iran."
He also referred to the recent oil and gas exploitation activities underway in Kish Island and said KFZO attaches great significance to environmental issues as it is already concerned about promoting tourism sector in the island.
KFZO head also referred to the activities carried out by Kish Free Zone Organization to develop the tourism infrastructure on the Persian Gulf Island and said boosting trade and tourism tops the agenda of Kish Free Zone Organization.
