Launching Khayyam Satellite, Iran-Russia Aviation Industry Joint Experience

Kish Island, December 14, 2022- The Russian Space Agency chief called the launch of the Khayyam satellite the result of cooperation between the Iranian and Russian aviation industries to exchange experiences and necessary collaboration between the two countries.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Yury Borisov, the CEO of the Russian Space Agency, made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 11th Iran International Aerospace Exhibition, held on December 13, in the Persian Gulf Hall of Kish International Convention Center and said: "Roscosmos' participation provides us with a unique opportunity to introduce Russia's latest achievements in the field of space science and technology to the friendly people of Iran, our Iranian colleagues and all the foreign guests of the air show."

According to him, the launch of the Khayyam satellite in August is a joint experience between Iran and Russia in developing space cooperation, leading to more interactions between the two countries shortly.

He listed the space industry as one of the drivers of the country's economy. "Our country has rich experience in this field, being a space pioneer, and we are ready to share our achievements with the Iranian people," the Director General of Roscosmos added.

The 11th edition of Iran International Aerospace Exhibition is underway on Kish Island from December 13-16.
