Kish Hosting Int'l Petrochemical Indstry Exhibition

Kish Island, 16 February 2021-The second edition of the International Petrochemical Industry Exhibition kicked off in Kish, intending to support domestic petrochemical industries.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, the event is aimed at providing a platform to interact and share ideas, presenting business opportunities and services, and boosting bilateral contacts to support and strengthen domestic production.

Covering an area of 18,000 square meters, the event is hosting 164 domestic companies that seek to boost collaboration in the transfer of technical knowledge and engineering services, chemicals, catalysts and equipment, support and the use of  knowledge-based companies, support for downstream industries, development of research and new technologies, promotion of free and special economic zones in the development of petrochemical industry and project financing.

The PGPOC Forum will also hold 19 specialized meetings and side conferences, focusing on introducing domestically made products in the petrochemical industry and financing petrochemical projects and the capital market's role.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Gholamhossein Mozaffari, the Chairman and CEO of Kish Free Zone Organization, said that the primary goal of the 2nd International Petrochemical Exhibition was to support capable domestic companies and said: "This exhibition is a good opportunity for the synergy of those involved in the petrochemical field, creating interaction with banks to provide financial resources and strengthening the field for domestic production."

He called the holding of specialized meetings one of the most important programs of this exhibition, and stated: "Creating the necessary infrastructure along with the equipment and climatic conditions of this region has turned Kish Island into an ideal center for holding specialized meetings."

"Fortunately, more than 1,200 billion tomans of executive contracts and 20 memoranda of understanding have been signed during this exhibition since last year, and this year this number of memorandums has increased to 72 memoranda of understanding," Mozaffari stated.

Mozaffari referred to the support of domestic manufacturing as one of the goals of this exhibition and said: "the second petrochemical industry exhibition will be held with strict and extensive supervision in the field of strict observance of health regulations."
