Kish Island is the Leading Region to Fulfill the Resistance Economy

The strategy of the Government of Prudence and Hope is to achieve the Sustainable Development on Kish Island.

Due to the existence of good potentials and natural resources on this Island, the Kish Island has been the most successful free zone of the country for many years. But this process is ongoing as long as the infrastructures of Kish meet the population growth, and also in case this island,  in the development path, does not deviate from its strategic plans that have been prepared in Master Plan.

We have had an opportunity in this interview to provide you a report of the performance of KFZO management from Mr. Ali Asghar Mounesan, the Managing Director who has been in charge of Kish Free Zone Organization since September 2013.

Mr. Mounesan, from the beginning of your management  you have stared your activities with this approach that  the purchase of land in shall not be the only mean to make money in Kish Free Zone Organization. So how successful were you in the implementation of this plan?

I am pleased that we have started this interview with this issue. To answer this question, i must provide you with general information about Kish Island.

The Kish Island has a Master Plan. In this Master Plan the Kish development plans have been identified and determined based on the Kish population growth in all areas.

This means that, at what level Kish Island should be, in terms of construction, cultural places, economic growth, and development and …every year, have been determined in this Master Plan. Every year the experts define the level of the Kish Development by statistics and specialized method and compare them with the Master Plan. This leads to the understanding of the current status of defects and shortcomings brought to Kish Island therefore to do what it takes in order to resolve these issues.

With the completion of our studies, it became clear that in the field of construction, Kish Island has gone more than it should. This means that the construction market is booming very well. And has a great benefit for who are involved in this filed.

This boom is good at the first glance, but when we had a closer study we found out that, one: we had no growth and development in other filed, two: Kish development has been uneven it means that in some parts of the Island there are special focus and developed, since in some other parts there are no development, three: on Kish Island there are land restrictions due to the geographical structure, that if the land assignment proceeds with the same intensity, therefore no reserves will remain for future generations. Four: the market boom of land transaction of selling and buying has led to create suspended activities and this issue had eradicated the incentive to invest in the field of tourism.

For this reason with the extensive planning that was prepared by experts in different areas, we have stopped the unbalanced selling of lands on Kish Island, and by providing facilities and legal support we have led the investors to the production and tourism activities.
