KFZO Head, Spanish Ambassador Discuss Expansion of Tourism, Trade Ties

Kish Island, April 17, 2018- Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization has met with Spanish Ambassador on the expansion of trade and tourism ties in Kish Island.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Spanish Ambassador to Iran, Eduardo López Busquets, met with KFZO managing director, Dr. Mohammad Ebrahim Ansari Lari to discuss expanding economic and tourism relations.

During the meeting, the director of Kish Free Zone Organization discussed the creation of common grounds for the exchange of tourists and the strategies for developing bilateral economic and trade relations with the Ambassador of Spain.

Establishing a direct flight between Kish and Spain was one of the other issues raised by Dr. Ansari Lari with Eduardo López Busquets.

He also referred to investment advantages in Kish Island including visa-free entrance as well as tax exemption, "Kish Island is ready for close collaboration in tourism and economic sectors.", he added.

Dr. Ansari Lari emphasized on the constructive cooperation with Spain given its successful experience in tourism industry.

Meanwhile, the Spanish ambassador expressed interest in the permanent presence of Kish private sector activists at Fitur, International Tourism Fair in Spain, and also Spanish Tour Operators attending exhibitions in Kish Island.

Eduardo López Busquets also announced the private sector's readiness to build hotel chains on Kish Island.

It is worth mentioning that the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain also met with Tourism and Economic deputy directors of Kish Free Zone Organization during his two-day visit to Kish Island.

It should be noted that the Spanish ambassador visited a number of industrial factories, several tourism projects, Kish Native Anthropology House, the 35,000-ton dock, and Kish Airport new passenger terminal which is already under construction.
