Iran’s Defense Minister Inaugurates International Aviation Exhibition

Kish Island, November 17, 2016- Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan, inaugurated the 8th edition of the International Aviation Show in Kish island on Wednesday.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, several high-ranking Iranian officials including Sorena Sattari, Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology, Ali Abedzadeh, Head of Civil Aviation Organization of Iran and Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan, Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization participated in the opening ceremony of the International Aviation Exhibition.

After the inauguration ceremony, Iranian Defense Minister along with a number of senior Iranian officials visited the stands at the exhibition and met with Iranian and foreign exhibitors.

The exhibition has been held with the aim of showcasing the capabilities of Iran’s aviation industries as well as introducing the latest achievements and technologies related to the aviation industry.

The 8th edition of the international aviation exhibition will be underway until November 19 in a 20,000 square meter area in Kish Island.

Some 100 Iranian aviation companies along with exhibitors from Germany, Russia, Italy, Britain, Japan, Lithuania, Malaysia, France and Czech Republic have attended the exhibition.

The exhibition is seen as a great opportunity to boost trade ties between Iranian aviation companies and their foreign counterparts.

Different types of airplanes, helicopters, aviation equipment, services as well as products will be placed on display during the four-day exhibition.

Also, international air shows will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition.

The Baltic Bees Jet Team, an aerobatic team from Latvia, is among the foreign teams scheduled to perform aviation shows in the Persian Gulf island of Kish.
