Hendurabi Island Development Speeding Up

Kish Island, May 4, 2016-Managing director of Kish Free Zone Organization has described the Persian Gulf Island of Hendurabi as an untapped tourism point of interest.


Dr. Ali Asghar Mounesan said the development process of the island has already been sped up over the past two years following Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's emphasis on the issue.

"The development of Hendurabi is underway based on an environment-friendly approach and German advisors have been recruited to draw up a comprehensive plan for creating a green Island," Dr. Mounesan reiterated.

He also pointed to the relocation of some 480,000 corals in Hendurabi as part of efforts to protect the natural environment of the Persian Gulf Island.

Dr. Mounesan also said environment-friendly materials have been used in the construction of Hendurabi Island in a bid to prevent any possible contamination.

The KFZO chief emphasized that KFZO has done its best to preserve the untapped environment of Hendurabi island which is supposed to be "island of peace and tranquility for tourists."

Dr. Mounesan made the comments during a visit to Hendurabi island.

A number of KFZO officials along with local authorities including the prayer leader of Kish island and the head of Hormozgan Province Judiciary Department accompanied Dr. Mounesan during the visit.
