Kish Free Zone Aims to Attract 6m Foreign Tourists Annually

Kish Island, January 22, 2019- Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization Gholam-Hossein Mozaffari has announced plans to attract six million to eight million foreign tourists to Kish Island annually.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization quoting IRNA, in his meeting with the Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Seyyed Zia Hashemi on Saturday, Mozaffari referred to the capacities of Kish Free Zone and said, “Attracting tourists, both foreign and domestic ones, is one of our major plans and we are also planning to use the capacities of Kish Free Zone in the scientific and health tourism sectors”.

He stressed that despite the efforts of the United States to impose sanctions on Iran, there is a good atmosphere in the country for expansion of tourism and “we should try to use this position in line with national interests”.

Mozaffari went on to say, “Various capacities and innumerable natural and economic abilities are concentrated in Kish and can be developed with proper planning due to the existence of related principled infrastructure.”

Managing director of KFZO, cited the development of tourism among these capacities, and pointed out that Kish is anonymous in foreign countries.

He referred to planning to hold Iranian and Islamic international celebrations on the island.

The Managing director of the Islamic Republic News Agency for his part said, 'The media has a lot of international capabilities, but the capacity of the media inside the country remains unknown.'

Hashemi reiterated that the media have a lot of capacities in different areas and, under the present condition of the country, capacities should be discovered and exploited more than the past.

He added that the media play a significant role in defending national interests in the current context and can be effective in different situations and political, economic and social conditions.
