Iranian MP Hails KFZO Development Activities

Kish Island, November23, 2014-A senior Iranian lawmaker, has praised the activities carried out by Kish Free Zone Organization aimed at developing the Persian Gulf Island.

Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Urban and Development Commission Mahdi Hashemi made the comments in a visit to the different projects underway on Kish Island including a new port, sewage treatment facility, and a family park, which have been commissioned by KFZO and will be built on Kish Island.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Kish Free Zone Organization, Hashemi said the implementation of the projects is indicative of the endeavors made by KFZO officials to promote development and prosperity of the Persian Gulf Island.

"Kish Island enjoys many capacities and given the development of infrastructure on the island, it can serve as a model for the urban management in Iran," said the lawmaker.

He also commented on the issue of tourism on Kish Island and said modern technology should be used to boost the industry on the Persian Gulf Island.

He also hailed the recreational and cultural projects carried out by KFZO and called for the continuation of such "constructive" measures to boost growth and development of Kish Island.

The Iranian lawmaker also proposed to set up a Persian Gulf tour between Chabahar, Kish, Qeshm and Arvand. Hashemi described Kish as great tourist destination which can make foreign visitors familiar with Iranian culture.
